The European union is now taking the first steps of a new more meaningful era.

More important than a president of the council is that the Lisbon strategy sets big challenges to a citizen-centric development.

That means that YOU are the center point of this brand new era.
And why not?
You already are a citizen of the entire union (and your home country).
You already have common borders with the rest of the union – and common money is most of the EU countries.
50% of the law’s already come from the union level and are common for all us 500 million citizens.

But how to make the union idea personal?
How to grow your resources to union-level without meeting all its bureaucracy?

Your union-wide, challenge-high and life-long idea is now closer to it’s cometrue than ever.
Please be curious, see it’s visions, read it’s challenges, participate it’s groups!

Especially our Facebook group is inspiring: already people from 50 countries (and EU has just 27).

Together we can easily make an essential Personal EU TeamFinder come true.
Without it there is almost impossible to find “someone like you” from up to each EU country – to be Your unique team.

All great ideas are finally very simple – so is this one.
You just have to find its value to you, personally.
I’m speaking of a new You-centric era that makes the present better.

Let’s keep in touch to do it.

Ideas?

Kurt

It’s not easy to drive at high speed into fog.
That’s a little how I felt when participating the high class workshop VisionEraNet in Helsinki.
In my mind the road (and partially the route because there is not road on every stint) to the happy European future is quite clear – no fog, just taking people there, a big amounbt of them.

You are prepared to hear excellent collaboration plans and the human being (citizen, end-user, customer, You, me) in the centre of the picture, in the centre of the globe.

But that was not exactly what happened: The presentations were somehow complicated, just as the innovation development situations in different countries. Some brilliant details and much of dust or boxes, boxes, boxes leading nowhere.

The handouts were in advance in the internet and on memory sticks for all almost 100 participants. Great!

But:
No network discussion fora for pre-questions to the speakers.
No list of partipants and their emails on the webpage.
No webcasting for allowing the participants to invite their networks to participate from long distance and make online comments and fresh questionsto get online answers.
And no real workshop, just Speeches, panel, questions from the audience and some talking with food in the mouth.

I know that organizations arranging conferences work in the meantimes too. The Organization boxes have their official ways to say and hear.

CHANGE however is something that needs wide common inspiration and new chainreactions from everyone to everyone – even outside the boxes, conference room and present organisation structures.

In this conference I missed the spirit of social change, the interested and inspiring interactivity from everybody to everybody, the really looking forward and daring to drive into the fog, knowing that the route map already exists in each of us and nowhere else.

Managing social change requires understanding of the fact that the change always begins NOW ONLINE, it is breathing in and out from all to all.

What I together with my network collague tried to do was to bring the inspiring online atmosphere to the box:
I made 27 online webcasts (almost 5 hours, I think) to the internet with my E90 mobile phone, we saw “global village people” login and make comments – and we wrote friendly feedbacks.
I made several comments to the presentations and mostly felt that others behaved a little like robots with the program section “human touch” turned off.

As a summary I, however, have to be happy and believe that just this kind of unstandard behavior gives the feeling of change and makes people (even if they don’t say or show it) come out of their personal traditioal hierarchy boxes.

And (that’s why like to believe) never go back there.
It doesn’t mean revolution. It just means looking at everything that you really are and making a new more natural and inspiring personal 24/7 world of it.

Happy Everything!

Dear EU Commission:http://ping.fm/m1JJA . Next step?

Words, pictures or voices don’t mean anything. They just transport meanings.

That’s why seeing or hearing aren’t the same as understanding.

And even that isn’t enough for accepting.

And that’s not everything for trusting.

People should be able to trust eachothers, not just nationally but internationally, globally.

We all are in the same boat named “Friendship” – or at least should be.

Because this is our only place to live – and it doesn’t understand too many human meanings.

What’s the best online visualization describing Your Social Network Traffic? Or is there any?

TouchGraph by Google shows visually all connections to and from Your website.  On Facebook You can find  a FriendWheel and other applications illustrating all Your friends and all their connections to Your other friends, in one interactive picture.

But what I’ve not found and what I need more than those partial solutions is a map showing as stations all my network destinations – and describing as thinner or thicker piles all traffic (my and other) between those stations (LinkedIn, Facebook, ENoLL, Twitter, Brightkite, Qaiku, Wiziq, Picasa, MySpace, YouTube, WordPress, Blogger, homepage… whatever).

And this map should be clickable to take me straight to any station on the map.

Do I have too big wishes? I don’t think so. Because that service would be the new kind homepage for a big part of internet users – and many feed applications already almost have the package ready as text stream.

So, when You find what I’m missing, please let me know. I promise not to keep it as a secret.

Today it is today. And tomorrow it is tomorrow. And so on.

But why wait that long?

As an European you could right now do something to enlarge yourself to an union-wide person – to one who has an own personal EU Commission with commissioners for all your big challenges.

http://www.personaleu.eu explains the idea, vision, mission… just one essential thing is missing – and you could now spend a quality moment to help it come true:

A PERSONAL EU27 TEAM FINDER is needed to allow everyone in the union find his/her own Personal EU.  The nature of that missing tool is described here: http://www.personaleu.eu/Your_role_and_challenge/Idea/TeamFinder/teamfinder.html

If you don’t be the one to create the Finder, you can still help yourself by sending this blog link to your friends who could answer such challenges.

We all are in the same boat – our unique personal lives, too. And our personal future is too short for waiting too long.

This year has teached us how bad our situation globally is – in ecology and in economy.
The good news are that we know more than ever about fixing the problem.
The solution just requires a new life style from all of us, personnally ( in private life and in working life).

Starting from the 1st of January let’s stop doing things wrongly.
Let’s use the right way.

There is no better way to make the world a better place to live for our children and their children.

Pinging Xmas!

When the world is in trouble, we are too. If we do not do anything to help it, who does?

Today’s problems are bigger than just national. It means that we have to make things internationally. As Europeans we have a good level: the European union.

Now everybody: Let’s start own personal European unions – teams consisting of “someone like me” from up to each EU country. Let’s start millions of such individual union-wide person teams.

To make able to do that, let’s create a “Personal EU27 Team Finder” first. Maybe you are the one who could develop it. Or maybe you just know the potential creator. Don’t be shy now. Speak up!

You get new friends through all your life, from school, work, hobby, family… You loose a big part of them during years, some essential, too. And you get friends who seem to be fully unwanted.

You need friends, a nice team of stimulating people for making your and their life more meaning. People who don’t mean anything to you – do you need them at all?

small world, but why don't I find?

Living is connecting people. But before that you have to collect them, keep them and find their role in your life. Your challenges are growing all time, and that’s why you maybe think it’s important to collect people for future challenges, too. If some people belong to your circles wit hout a role, it’s not dangerous if they don’t harm you and your real friends? You never know who of them will stand up and be very essential to you. Is it so?

Think about this and your network friends. What is missing from what you give to them – what you mean to them?

If you are European, please look at http://www.personaleu.eu – and see if you find some new essential criteria for your future friends. I hope so.

A very stupid question!?

Yes, stupid enough, I hope.

First of all: why should you organize your world? Because you are in the centre of it: the only one in the world who can live your life.

If you are a citizen of the European union, you could start with creating an own EU: by choosing the most similar person from each country in the union and then by doing the most essential common things with them. The internet makes it easy – when someone first creates a “Personal EU Team Finder” and some missing essential team tools.

This explanation was far too short to make you understand. But I hope it was long enough to make you interested.

Please be open-minded and come to the site www.personaleu.eu – and do not go away before you have browsed at least to ten pages there.  Free choice.

If you like to get more details and nuances, welcome to my blogs – and especially to the Personal EU group in Facebook – http://groups.to(personaleu/ . You’ll meet people from almost 50 countries there.

Happy organizing!

ENoLL is the European Network of Living Labs, see http://www.openlivinglabs.eu/ .

Personal EU my suggestion, that every EU citizen should have t he opportunity to start her/his own union wide team, consisting of “someone like me” from up to each European country. See http://www.personaleu.eu .

What have these two things to do with eachothers?

I think the ENoLL should be “the way of doing” through the ENoLL.

That’s why I just now do my best to make a proposal that is good enough for their 3rd wave call.

Comments, please.

Personal EU in a nutshell

I just added some new nuances to my “Personal EU” group (Facebook).

Until now every country of the European union has had it’s “key” person in the admin list – and so it absolutely will be, too.

What’s new is that I’ll make a similar key person list from the countries bordering the union - our nearest neighbours.

But that’s not enough: this planet is getting smaller every day and we need collaboration and “glocal” views from every country in the world. The Personal EU group meets this challenge by inviting globally friends from every country to “glocal keys” in Personal EU collaboration.

Ofcourse the Personal EU group is just a piloting thinking model for millions of unique Personal EU teams – each of them consisting of 17-27 individuals from different EU countries, 5-15 bordering countries and up to 150 other countries.

So, if any this is meant to be a very global open social team of teams. In my Personal EU Blogspot blog I just wrote a letter to Google – to make them see the Personal EU platform as an essential part of their coming “Open Social” world. I suggested that they should start an user-centric development unit in Finland for that, because

“Sapienti sat” now.

If You are someone I mentioned above, please join the Personal EU group and be interactive there. Or tell Your personal wishes to Personal EU right here.

EUhomeThis is a very big question. But You, I and we all in Europe have an even bigger tool for successfully answering the challenge: our personal brains.

We all live our life on personal level and that’s the only way we can do it.  Those of us who are EU citizens can do it in that role. And all of us can do it as citizens of our home countries.

So – let’s use our heads and discuss. About what hole? With whom?

If You see a hole in the union then there must be one. And about discussion my suggestion is: together with someone from every EU country, together with someone from the missing countries, too. It’s easier than ever with our various free collaborative network tools: Virtual tourist, LinkedIn, Skype, Messenger, Habbo, Google Talk, Facebook… If You use some of those and want to know more what I’m speaking about, just find me there and ask.
If You use Facebook, please welcome to the group Personal EU to understand and participate. And in any case visit the site http://www.personaleu.eu to find a surprising and hopefully inspiring cross-European initiative.

As a matter of fact the union is (or isn’t) inside our heads. Maybe the hole is there, too.

 Inspiring European interactivity!

Kurt
www.personaleu.eu

personalteams.jpgToday the European union is almost 500 000 000 individuals from 27 member states. The next years will bring more.

What EU is is not just something between it’smember states. On personal level it should mean even more
- because we all can live our lifes only on personal level – no one can do it instead of us
- because countries and unions can not succeed without people doing the job and turning problems into victories

I mean that the secter of a successful union is how motivated and equipped the citizens are to innovate and collaborate on union level. There should not be unnecessary hierarchies between the compatible team members from different countries – and even the invisible historical attitude borders should be forgotten.

I strongly believe that I’ve found the solution, the missing dimension. I’ve worked many years developing it. The site www.personaleu.eu describes widely what it is all about.

Here I just want to draw your attention to one thing in the Personal EU concept: it’s role in the daily life! I do not mean just a few days but a 24/7/12/ continuity. Connecting private and work sectors on union level.

Today there are not such networks – just networks with too little features or networks with too much features. And non of them can find to you the personal union-wide dimension.

I’d like to know your comments and tips to this. Your turn, please.

Your PPPP rolesYou know who You are so I don’t try to explain it to You.

PPPP however needs a few words. No, it’s not four parking places – or actually that’s exactly what it is.

The seed of PPPP is PP: Public-Private or Private-Public. It’s a form of collaboration where the government sector and market sector together set challenges and reach goals. In more and more cases it works well but is still missing something from its both ends: the politics and the persons who finally pay and use the result.

PPPP (Politic. Public. Private. Person.) is an enlargement of Public-Private or Private-Public. It brings the entire value chain to collaboration from the first moment – just like runners to a start line towards a common final.

And how about You as a PPPP key!?

As a matter of fact You have all those PPPP roles inbuilt in Yourself, so You are at least the right person to participate in PPPP collaboration. Let’s look at Your PPPP roles closer and just take some examples:
- Your P1 role: chooser in political elections (and just not on national level)
- Your P2 role: sponsor in public life as a tax payer
- Your P3 role: unique combination of professional/cultural/local expertise and resources
- Your P4 role: unique unit of human life – no one else is able to live Your life and reach Your personal challenges

Why speak about EU PPPP? Simply because You (and almost 500 million other individuals) not just are citizens of their EU countries but citizens of the entire EU, too. And because already 50% of our laws come from that common level. Not to forget Schengen, Treaty, Lisbon strategy, Living Labs, environment, aging of everyone or € either.

You can start Your EU keynote speech in front of the mirror by letting Your PPPP roles, one by one, bring unique essential views to the subject (whatever it is).

And when You’ve practised with Yourself, You’re ready to do the same in any local, regional, “EUnal” or global negotiation or conference.

Just ensure together with others that everyone plays using those same rules/roles. If someone wants to leave some of his/her pleasant “P” duties unused, he/she should accept removing it from all his/her rights, too. Simple and stupid but logical.

Welcome to Your PPPP era – and innovative European interactivity!

Facebook: Personal EU group

and almost 500 million individuals in the European union

My big mouth
Yesterday i wrote about the planned
Personal EU conference panel in Slovenia. Today I received an email from there – and it makes me think the whole thing over:

“Dear Kurt,

In the Call (http://BledConference.org/Call_for_Panels_and_Workshops) it is described how a panel is put together and run. The panel chair, or co-chairs (sometimes we have co-chairs) is the driving force. No special invitation are practised.

Since the panellists are expected to register for the conference, they may plan to attend several components of the program and exploit lunches and dinners for interactions. It is expected that some arrangement are made during the conference (joint activities, projects).

Regarding the day of a panel, it is hard to make individual arrangement at this point in time. We will be receiving papers and panel proposals in next few weeks. We could take a note that Tuesday, June 17 would be preferable to you. However, would you expect that some individuals would be able to register for the conference and travel a certain distance just for one day?

You may like to suggest the panellists to engage in the conference (2-3 days) and enjoy the Bled environment.

Best regards, Joze

I’m not sure at all that my key persons have 3 days “for a panel”. I think that even my interest is to participate the panel session and then spend the rest of my 3 days vacation in Slovenia with my dear Leena.

OK, today I’ll explain the situation to those who already received my invitation.

Then I concentrate in the proposal to the committee and hope the best. Maybe my experts or even better experts will registrate to the conference – and we will get a great Personal EU panel in June.

I’ve been invited to propose a panel session for a eCollaboration conference in Bled, June 15-18th.

Not complicated: just 5-6 EU experts telling their view to my Personal EU initiative and discussing with eachothers and the audience.

To make the event succeed I started by asking from some key persons if they would say Yes.

The first answer was “When exactly?”

This is an answer that I need from the conference committee – but they are waiting for my suggestion first: Panelists, their views to the subject and the subject in a nutshell.

The panelists want to receive an invitation from the conference arrangers…

What I just did in this situation was that I sent an email to my friend in the conference committee and made this suggestion: He and I would sign together an advance invitation, where I tell about the Personal EU panel idea and he about the suggested day and hour and other technical details.

My biggest problem just now is my poor English. Let’s see what happens.

 Successful cooperation!

Everything has been fine this year, especially for network people. Maybe too fine, because we now have so many excellent channels and so many network friends that we don’t know what to do with them.

What I’d like to do with all my friends?

I’d like to give everyone his/her own very essential lifelong network for daily challenges.

For my European friends I even know the name of the thing: Personal EU!
I think just now is a very good moment to visit http://www.personaleu.eu and see its message as a seed for a new era.

On practical level Personal EU should very quickly get a “Personal EU27 Team Finder” to be able to show its completing power to the entire union. Are You the one who can and will create this Finder. After it everyone him/herself can feel what it is to have an OWN private union.

Happy everything to You All!

You know the usual way to establish companies and run business – and if You are from Europe, You are an expert in comparing it to another way.

I call it the Personal EU way.

Someone like You from each country in the union.1) Take Yourself
2) Choose 26 persons with as identic challenge profiles as possible: one from each EU country
3) Start interacting about essential things on private and business level
4) Realize that You are an union-wide organi(c)zation
5) Sharpen Your business idea and organization
6) Run it

There could be millions of such Personal EU businesses and almost-businesses if…
If what? What’s missing?

The Personal EU27 Team Finder is still missing – and developing it can not be an insuperable barrier.

If I should be Mr. José Manuel Barroso  I’d tell to my commission in the next meeting, that I want their internet gurus to develop such a small application and show it to us in the next meeting.
After that I’d start a commission-wide PPPP (Politic-Public-Private-Person) operation to make every Organization, project and citizen know this tool and that it is free to use and open for financers and supporters.

Very unusual, isn’t it?

When do we start, Mr. Barroso?

Yes, we celebrate it just now today in Finland. You celebrate Your independency day on some other day of the year. Collaboration at its best is fighting: fighting FOR something, not against something.

What does it mean:

If You like to do things together, You collaborate. If You wouldn’t, then You don’t.

In “no collaboration” case the way is to do alone and keep quiet. Maybe others just happen to find Your good work and make a success of it. Then You maybe like to think over Your attitude to collaboration.

In collaborating for something the fight should be interactive and flexible. Without interactivity there is no collaboration and without flexibility there is no progress. In my mind flexibility is ability to be so much interested in the collaborator’s ideas that the common contact surfaces appear – and that’s the base for common succces.

Collaboration is always problematic. And that’s nice, because a problem is a golden opportunity to solve a problem.

Let’s collaborate!
